Pensioner, 77, is brutally killed in his £468,000 Buckinghamshire home

A retired double glazing company boss has been killed at his home in a leafy market town on the edge of the Chilterns as a 36-year-old who knew the victim was arrested for murder.

The 77-year-old suffered serious injuries during the attack at his house in Wendover, Buckinghamshire, and died at the scene.

Police were called to the address at 5.25pm on Tuesday to reports of an assault, and the suspect was taken into custody.

One neighbour told MailOnline: ‘All hell broke loose. I counted seven police cars, two ambulances and the air ambulance.’

He said he believed the victim, who was divorced and had a son, had suffered fatal wounds after being ‘slashed’ with a knife.

The neighbour added: ‘He had been here for over 15-years. He used to have a lot of flash cars – Mercedes and Ferraris.’
