Meghan and Harry POLL: Has Royal Family’s reputation been damaged by Oprah interview? readers can vote in our poll on whether the Royal Family’s reputation has been rocked by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s explosive claims. Meghan and Harry’s interview with Winfrey aired on US television network CBS last night and on ITV tonight.

The Sussexes’ tell-all chat unleashed a set of astonishing revelations.

Meghan said that when she was pregnant with Archie an unnamed member of the Royal Family made a racist comment about how dark the baby’s skin would be.

Winfrey today insisted the mystery royal is not the Queen or Prince Philip.

Meghan also claimed Archie, who is seventh in line to the throne, was not made a prince because of his race.

During the sit-down chat, the ex-Suits star told how she was left feeling suicidal but was turned away by the institution when she begged for help.

She said: “I just didn’t want to be alive anymore.”

And Meghan claimed Kate made her cry ahead of her royal wedding at a bridesmaid dress fitting – after previous reports it was the other way round.

Meghan also insisted her treatment by the press was different to the Duchess of Cambridge’s, adding “rude and racist are not the same”.

Asked why they left, he blamed a “lack of support and lack of understanding”.

Harry said he had been “trapped within the system, like the rest of my family are”.

He continued: “My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don’t get to leave.”

Harry also said the Royal Family initially welcomed his wife but things changed after their tour to Australia and New Zealand.

He suggested they were jealous over how she carried out royal duties on the trip.

In an apparent reference to his mother Princess Diana, he added: “That brought back memories.”

Harry also claimed he was forced to sign lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify to pay for security after the Royal Family “literally cut me off financially” in the first quarter of 2020.

The allegations by the Sussexes have plunged the monarchy into crisis.

It has questions to answer about why a suicidal Meghan was not given help and accusations of racism.

The couple ended royal duties in March 2020 and are now living in an £11 million mansion in California.
