Majority of Britons think Harry and Meghan should be stripped of royal titles – poll
In a poll of 1,590 people from across the country, most Brits thought the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should lose their titles. The poll, run through the Daily Mirror, between march 31 and April 1, split opinions on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Nearly 3 in 5 British pollsters (58 percent) thought the Sussexes should be stripped of their royal titles.
Twenty-three percent of those polled, thought they should be allowed to keep the titles.
The poll comes three weeks after the shocking tell-all Oprah interview that sent shockwaves through the Royal Family.
Despite the public’s reaction to the shocking allegations uncovered by Winfrey’s interview, over 30 percent of pollsters believed Prince Harry and Meghan’s stunt had no impact on the reputation of the monarch and nine percent even thought it helped improve it.
Younger Brits taking the poll aged between 18 and 24 even thought that Harry should be King over his brother Prince William and his father Prince Charles.
Early last month, senior Palace advisers held crisis talks over whether Harry and Meghan should lose their titles in light of their decision to appear on Oprah.
