The actor, 34, took to Instagram to share a message he received asking if he would be interested ‘in a porn opportunity’ based in London.

‘If so get back to me and I will send you the details, it is based in London where you are. Thanks.’

Michael wrote in the caption: ‘(Ross Gellar voice) I WILL TAKE IT!!!..After a year of not working this is actually looking like the only option I have left 🙂 (sic)’

Jack P Shepherd – who plays Coronation Street’s David Platt – commented: ‘Do it. Be mint experience. And one for the book.’

Meanwhile former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher – who played Andy Sugden – posted: ‘Why not’

Michael made his final Emmerdale appearance as Ross Barton on November 2 2018, and admitted just a few weeks after his last-ever episode aired that he was ‘bored’ after being out of work for two months.

He tweeted: ‘I know there are many factors for why ppl don’t/can’t work but in my experience of not having a job which has almost lasted two months now…. it is boring. So boring. There’s just naff all to do! (sic)’

His former co-star Samantha Giles – who played Bernice Blackstock – was quick to reply with words of support, telling him to ‘hold his nerve’, and adding that ‘something good will come up’.

When a fan suggested he should have stayed on the soap, she replied: ‘He was brave to go and he’s an actor so he wants to play lots of roles! Never play safe- life is for living and that means taking risks!! (sic)’

Back in November 2018, Michael quit the soap after reportedly growing tired of his character Ross Barton’s dark storylines.

He confirmed his departure from the ITV show on Twitter after five years in the role, with a source telling The Sun it was due to growing tired with the daily hours in the makeup chair as part of the acid attack storylines.

Michael confirmed the news he was quitting by saying: ‘Yes I’ll be leaving the soap soon. Have had the best few years at Emmerdale but it’s time to move on and explore other avenues. If I win that soap award I might stay though.’

However a source told The Sun at the time that Michael chose to leave the show due to being unhappy with his choice of story lines, as well as the hours he would spend having the makeup applied to recreate the scarring caused by an acid attack.

They said: ‘Mike has told anyone who will listen how much he hated his storylines and what bosses had done with his character.

‘He particularly hated the make-up he had to wear for the acid attack storyline. He’s been fed up for ages and has finally told bosses he’s off.’

MailOnline contacted representatives for Michael Parr and Emmerdale for further comment at the time.

Ross had been at the centre of numerous hard-hitting storylines in his five years in the Dales, and was even thought dead in 2015 after being caught up in a fight with his brother Pete (Anthony Quinlan).

Luckily he was revealed to be barely alive after being found lying in a hospital, and was then revealed to be the man who attempted to kill Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) in a special flashback episode.

To add to the drama, after Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) was revealed to have given birth to son Moses in prison, Ross was discovered as the baby’s father.

Ross was then at centre of yet another Who Done It in 2017, accused of killing his mother Emma (Gillian Kearney) by pushing her off a bridge after she accidentally shot his brother Finn (Joe Gill), though it was later revealed that the culprit was his aunt Moira (Natalie J Robb).

But undoubtedly Ross’ biggest storyline was his horrific acid attack earlier in 2018, leaving the character scarred after being wrongfully targeted by Simon thinking that he was the villainous Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
