Donald Trump launches new website claiming to defeat ‘the Washington Establishment’
The former president and first lady announced the launch of their website, 45Office.com, on Monday, which gives updates on events and allows both the press and public to contact them. The website’s about page offers a spotless review of Mr Trump’s presidential legacy, claiming that the former president “launched the most extraordinary political movement in history dethroning political dynasties” and defeating “the Washington Establishment.”
The website also claims that under former President Trump, “America led the world in reducing carbon emissions” despite being the second largest carbon polluter in the world after China.
“Unemployment reached its lowest rate in half a century,” reads the website, which might have been true for a while in February 2020, but by the time Mr Trump left office there were three million fewer jobs than when he started.
The issue of unemployment under the Trump administration can most likely be blamed on the outbreak of Covid-19 in America, during which unemployment hit a 90-year high (14.7 percent) in April 2020.
The writing of Mr Trump’s presidency also mentions the “aggressive action” the administration took to combat the pandemic which they say: “saved countless lives.”
However, in the early stages of the outbreak, Mr Trump downplayed the seriousness of the disease and criticised harsh lockdown measures.
The site praises Mr Trump for his handling of the pandemic by claiming that “President Trump, from scratch, built the most robust testing system in the world,” despite being repeatedly condemned for his poor testing schemes.
“No President has done more to build an immigration system that promotes safety, dignity, security, and prosperity for the American People,” reads the page, despite Mr Trump implementing several heavily criticised policies including his “zero tolerance” policy that forced family separation.
